International Legal Studies (LL.B.)

The degree course "International Legal Studies" merges the traditional German legal education with a comprehensive training in the law of England and Wales. Parallel matriculation in the course "Rechtswissenschaft (1. Juristische Prüfung/Staatsexamen)" is highly recommended. The course starts every winter semester.

English law will be taught as required by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) and the Bar Standards Board (BSB). The different areas of English Civil Law, Public Law and Criminal Law will be taught on the basis of the subjects prescribed by these bodies. Graduates will be left in possession of a degree fulfilling the requirements for the academic stage of training set by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) and the Bar Standards Board (BSB).

German law studies cover Civil Law, Public Law and Criminal Law. Finishing the course will provide students with all curricular requirements to apply for the first state exam (1. Juristische Prüfung) in the state of Thuringia.

The course also includes one year of studies or internships abroad.
